windows 7 - How long can a workstation be not connect to domain before getting locked out?

I used a personal laptop at a company for a while and the laptop was joined to their domain. I have since left the company and the laptop is home with me. I heavily use the domain profile that was created when I joined their domain and right now it wouldn't be possible to recreate a new profile and migrate my apps to a local profile.

whats the consequences of not ever leaving the domain? Will there come a time when I will be unable to log in again? Can I convert this this domain profile to a local profile?

microsoft excel - How to highlight multiple rows based on column cell numbers?

I'd like to automatically highlight multiple rows based on the group of numbers in one column. So I would have a different row color for each unique family ID. Is there a way to do this without manually having to select a color in conditional formating? I have 400 families and 1000+ rows. Thanks for the help guys.

macos - unable to format external drive to HFS+ for Mac

I have an external hard drive (1 TB Western Digital) that is currently formatted as FAT32 and I want to reformat it to a single partition of HFS+ for my Mac. I realize that I can read FAT32 from my Mac but want HFS as it has other feathers like permissions that I'd like to have.

I have tried using Disk Utility to format the drive as I have done in the past, but when I go through the process it fails and throws out an error stating that it is unable to reformat the drive to HFS.

Error messages:

Partition Failed
Partition failed with the error: File system formatter failed.

What might be the reasons that this could happen? Are there any diagnostics I could run on the physical disk to check if it is running well?

Re-partition the drive using a GUID Parition Table.

1. Go into the “Partition” tab and choose “1 Partition.”


2. Click the “Options…” button and choose “GUID Partition Table.”


3. Set the format to “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)” and Apply.

Laptop shuts down randomly, new power supply?

I have an old laptop I haven't used for a long time because I couldn't find my power supply for it.

But recently I found a power supply that matched my laptop, but my laptop requires 19v 4.74 Ampere - and my new power supply has a output of 19v 2.37 Ampere.

Is that the reason why my laptop shuts downs when too hot or when I'm trying to launch some software?

How to set environment variables for Xfce windowing environment

We're using Ubuntu 12.04.1 with Xfce 4.8. We have a script which sets environment variables needed by our software. In the past, I figured out how to run this script in the Xfce start up so that these environment variables are set up and available to gui based programs launched via icons. Recently an OS upgrade wiped out this setting and I can't remember or find how to do this. I've tried sourcing the script from ~/.profile, ~/.xinitrc, and ~/.config/xfce4/xinitrc, but no luck.

per this https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xfce#Session you should "Copy the file /etc/xdg/xfce4/xinitrc to ~/.config/xfce4/". I edited etc/xdg/xfce4/xinitrc directly and the var was in the user session.

"excel stopped working" message on Windows 7?

We faced serious problem with Excel 2003. A message "excel stopped working" is displayed and excel just restarts. We start it with compatibility option for Windows XP, and I turned off user account control but it does not help.

Reinstallation does not resolve the problem. User has administrative rights to the computer. What can we do to fix this problem?

This problem is serious specially when You use ctrl-c ctrl-v sequence. Must we buy newer version of Office? Is that solution? Or Office 2007 has the same problem? What about Office 2010? Do Microsoft says anything about this common issue?
