hard drive - Cloning HDD to a Larger HDD

I’m trying to clone a 1TB HDD to a 2TB HDD and so far it’s been 15 hours. Am I doing anything wrong?

I first used Macrium and that took 3 hours but resulted in a new disk with the exact same order of partitions with a very large unallocated space at the end. I tried to use MiniTool to move the unallocated space to append to C drive but it would not move.

I am currently using MiniTool to clone the disk. This time it allowed me to shuffle the order of the partitions before the clone. This is where I am at now, it having been what seems an inordinate number of hours. 15 so far.

I suspect the type of partitions may be causing the problem. The Linux ones are in the middle of C dirive and the unallocated space. They may be blocking the movement of C and the unallocated space. The partitions are in order:

• SYSTEM


• C drive ntfs


• Ext4 Linux


• Unallocated Linux swap


• D Recovery ntfs


• E HP_Tools fat32

(Unallocated space after clone)

Trying to change the order to make the Unalloced appear after C drive is not possible before or after clone except only with MiniTool before the cloning operation.

Sometimes the software will change the sizes of the existing partitions in the new clone. I altered them back to their original size with the exception of the new C drive which becomes bigger.

How to add application shortcuts to the Windows 10 Links Toolbar?

A few years ago I was somehow able to add application shortcuts (Chrome, Notepad, Windows Explorer, etc) to my Toolbar Links in Windows 10. (Please do not confuse this with the taskbar, which is easy to add app shortcuts to.) I have a new PC now and I cannot remember or figure out how to add application shortcuts to the Links Toolbar.

Just so we're on the same page, the Links Toolbar is hidden by default, but can be made visible by right-clicking in the taskbar area and selecting Toolbars->Links. Then you can unlock the taskbar and add application shortcuts to the links toolbar - but I cannot figure out how to do it.

I'm sitting here looking at the perfectly configured Link Toolbar shortcuts on my OLD PC:

Notice Chrome, Notepad, Windows Explorer, SSMS, VS, Email.

But on my NEW PC I cannot figure out how to add those same shortcuts. Still Windows 10, same OS. It seems before I was able to drag/drop those shortcuts onto that, but I'm unable to do that now. I can easily drag/drop onto the taskbar, but not onto my visible and unlocked links toolbar.

You ask WHY NOT just use the taskbar? I like the links toolbar better because (1) I can get smaller icons on there and (2) the behavior is better and different - when I click, it simply launches the app, or a 2nd/3rd instance - the taskbar assumes I don't want a new instance when I click on an app shortcut for an app that is already open.

How can application shortcuts be added to the Links Toolbar in Windows 10 Pro? (latest update version as of April 13, 2019)

Drag & drop should work, if you unlock the Taskbar first.

Otherwise, you should be able to add application shortcuts to the source folder:

C:\users\\favorites\Links

windows 8.1 - Win 8.1 auto sign out after login

I am using Windows 8.1 Pro update 1

I have 2 accounts: L(always used, admin user) and F (Standard account)
After a long time not logged in with user F, now I cannot log in with F account, the system automatic log out immediately after login. I don't know why, I have antivirus, not install strange software and my favorite account (L) is working 100%
Now when I create any extra account, it cannot be logged in too

I am googling a lots, and there are many result said: it's a Win 8 error and not solution fount yet

I'm trying to get a Windows 10 ISO for a virtual campaign soon, but I am unable to find a website that has the Windows 10 ISO. I mostly use WinWorld, but it lacks an ISO, and there's no way of newer versions at the download site.

The fact that there are 8+8, 16+16 and so on options present, makes me believe it has two slots for RAM. I'm thinking of getting the one with 16GB DDR4 2666MHz ECC SODIMM; Would I be able in the future to upgrade to 32GB by adding a second SODIMM?

My question comes from my vague recollection that once upon a time you needed to get matched pairs of ram sticks and they would work individually but not (or not very well) with other non-matched sticks.

networking - How can I create a virtual switch which allows the virtual client to communicate with the host but not with the internet

I'm using Windows 10 Enterprise and the Hyper-V Manager.

• I want that my virtual machine is able to see the host but not the
  cooperate network and internet.


• I want to be able to connect from
  the host via remote desktop to the virtual machine.

How can I create a virtual switch which allows the virtual client to communicate with the host but not with the internet:

• If I set the connection type to internal I'm able to do a remote desktop connection to my virtual machine. But the virtual machine sees the internet.


• If I set the connection type to private I'm not able to do a remote desktop connection to my virtual machine.


• If I set the connection type to external and I would have 3 Ethernet adapter in my host PC then it could work. Ethernet 1 connected to internet, Ethernet 2 (fix IP e.g.: 192.168.1.1), Ethernet 3 (chosen as external network adapter for the virtual machine fix IP e.g.: 192.168.1.2). If there is a physical connection (Ethernet cable) between adapters 2 and 3 I'm able to do a remote desktop connection from my host to the virtual machine and the virtual machine isn't connected to the internet. So exactly what I want. The problem is that I don't have 3 Ethernet adapter in my host. I'm pretty sure there is an easier way.

keyboard - How to change or assign key functionality in windows 7?

I have bought a keyboard that has Fn key at the left bottom corner. But I'm used to with having Ctrl button there. I can't change it now. Thus, I'm having trouble with using Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. Is there any way so that I can change/assign Fn+C and Fn+V for same copy paste functionalities without any other software / apps.

And is there any way I can do that for this particular keyboard. I don't want to mess up other keyboards.
